Girlie Issues - I gots 'em

A few weeks ago, I went to my lady-part doctor and had some routine tests done. I went to him for one thing and he decided to run the full work up of tests because I was there and it was time. I didn't think much of it when he did a PAP smear. I confided in my oldest sister that I was nervous to go to the gyno because I was afraid he'd find something.

I had reason to be nervous.

He called yesterday to tell me I needed to come in to sit with him. The conversation went something like this:

HG: Is everything OK?
Dr.: Well, not exactly. Some things came out looking weird.
HG: Can you expand on that?
Dr.: Not really. You need to see a specialist first and I need to give you a piece of paper in order to refer you.
HG: So, I'm not ok?
Dr.: Well, you're healthy - except your cholesterol and stuff but the test came back looking weird.
HG: Can you tell me what's going on?
Dr.: No.
HG: Why?
Dr.: Because I know you'll go home and search on WebMD. Make an appointment and come in.

There's nothing going through my mind right now except "OMFG WTF!!" Work is kind of an after thought right now. I spoke with my oldest sister last night because she could tell via IM that I was wigging out. I kept it together all day yesterday until the man and his visiting cousin went to get ice cream - then I lost it. This is the bazillionth time I've heard the "C" word this year. Cancercancercancercancercancercancercancer... running through my head. OK, maybe not RIGHT NOW - but it was.

Can we say "worst timing... EVER?" I'm in the middle of enjoying the whole newly wed thing while Craig's in school and I'm finishing my Senior Thesis Paper! Horrid timing. Really.

I have my dad's voice in the back of my head saying "you'll know when it's time to worry. Until then, don't."

So, I'm trying not to but it's really hard when there's an issue with a lady part. It's like I'm broken down there and I didn't even know it. YIKES! How does someone become broken in the lady areas?

Tonight, when I retire to my house, I'll be drinking a big glass of something ... large glass. Perhaps multiple glasses. Here's to finding out what's broke! Bottoms up!

I'm sure everything's going to turn out fine. Sometimes these darn test results come out "strange" but are nothing when they look into it. Also, your doctor sucks for making you worry like this.
